Consulting Services was founded in 1995 and has been active in providing a range of technical and management support services to the Biotechnology industry in the US, Europe and Asia. The founder, Dr Malcolm G. Pluskal has been active both in academia and industry since 1976 with a wide range of experience gained in Proteomics, Molecular biology, chromatography, sample preparation, electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, organic synthesis and the development of hardware for analysis and sample preparation. Dr Pluskal has developed key technologies in PVDF-based blotting membranes, 2D electrophoresis hardware, preparative isoelectric focus based protein pre-fractionation, complexity reduction for Biomarker discovery, in-gel protease digestion and MALDI-MS identification of peptides and sample preparation methodologies for nucleic acids, proteins, peptides and carbohydrates. His work has led to several successful commercial products and is a holder of 4 granted US patents and several pending. More recently, experience has been gained in technology review of intellectual property, assessment of new technology and business opportunities, due diligence in support of investment and expert witness support of legal action. These skills have been employed in support of product and business development in a range of companies from start-up to market leader size in Biotech, Drug Developmental and Medical device industry segments.
